Music Moves Us
If you're a music fan like me, you find lyrics and guitar riffs inspiring. When writing this book, I was drawn to certain songs that seemed to define seasons of my life. Likewise, certain songs seemed to send messages about one part of life that fit what I was thinking about another part of life. Are love and leadership really all that different? Just like the Clint Black song "State of Mind" describes, music can take our minds to places far away from our physical location and general circumstances.
Since music was so influential in my writing this book (and my whole life), I wanted to pay tribute to those artists. I thought it would be fun to put some stories together that aren't told in the book and to pull back the curtain about how I connect with music in a deep and often atypical way.
Call it a playlist. Call it a soundtrack.
I call it the Anthology of Ageism.
